    Description

If your local hobby shop, or your favorite parts supplier, does not carry this book, now is your chance to get this excellent, 1st Edition trouble-shooting and repair manual
    .
    A.C. Gilbert's Postwar American Flyer
    S-Gauge Reference Manual
    1st Edition
This book contains all the information you will need to perform
    electrical
trouble-shooting/repair on the armatures, fields, and other coils used in A.C.Gilbert's American Flyer S-Gauge products.  It is the only book ever published that will take you to this level, and is 100% compatible with other
    mechanical
references you may own  (Greenberg, K-Line, Amato/Hobby Surplus).  It is also commercially printed in
    full-color
    .
Ownership of this manual also entitles you to
    web-based support
. This website is primarily used to communicate newly discovered information (in book page PDF format) to registered owners of this manual, in the form of
    Updates
.  This website also provides E-mail and telephone contact information for queries that go beyond basic manual updates.  Once you've registered your manual, you can expect help covering all kinds of topics ranging from names of parts suppliers, to sources of supplies and tools, to sources that provide repair services.  I can also provide  limited trouble-shooting assistance over the phone.
I developed the information contained in this book over a period of 10 years.  The specs you will find in this book were developed by carefully documenting original A.C. Gilbert parts received for rewinding, as well as engines/accessories I stupidly purchased because the "wheels turned freely" or "the mechanism moved freely"; or that blew up while "the kids" were playing with them (a "zero-tolerance for failure crowd", if you know what I mean).   I continue to use it as a quick-reference to check out components received for rewinding/repair on an almost daily basis.  You will find it invaluable when the time comes to trouble-shoot and/or repair your S-Gauge products.

and it will be right there on your bench the next time you run into a problem.
Handling Time: I try to ship same day / next day at the latest  The only exceptions are (1) Extended power outages after major storms; (2) Extended snowed-in periods in winter; (3) order arrived too late to make it to/or back to the Post Office; or (4) vehicle failure (hasn't happened yet).
U.S. Shipping: All manuals are shipped Priority Mail.
International Shipping:  I will ship to any country which has some kind of Postal Service. Shipping rates may vary by country/distance. Regardless, charges will be ACTUAL (no handling fees).  Of course, you will have to deal with your home country's tarriffs/import duties at your end; and insurance is not available with the lower priced services.
If you have any questions about this manual, send me an E-mail (please include your U.S. phone number, especially if the question involves troubleshooting).   I'll be happy to discuss or answer any questions you have about it.
